Sets to the slopes of the mountain of the Ascension, Castignano offers amazing foreshortenings to the visitors. From the medioevale it places St. Pietro the mountainous chain of the Appennino, the sea and the characteristic calanchis you/they can be admired. Rich of history, the country preserves numerous testimonies of the past, what the stele with registration picena, preserved to the archaeological museum of Ascoli Piceno, the Romanesque church of the SSs. Pietro and Paul with precious fresco of the Universal Judgment, recently restored, other frescos of school crivellesca and the wooden statue of the Virgo Addolorata. The church of S.Maria of the Suburb preserves traces of the presence of the riders Templari. Characteristic it is also the Renaissance suburb of Ripaberarda, with, inside the Castle, the bell tower attributed to Anthony by Praises.
